In 2024, Koppert Foundation supported 27 impactful projects across the globe, focusing on smallholder farmers, social responsibility, and educational initiatives. Since its inception in 2017, the Foundation has worked to enhance the quality of life of communities worldwide, providing solutions that positively affect social, economic, environmental, and health outcomes.
We are proud to release the Foundation’s 2024 Annual Report which highlights the achievements, regional outreach, and strategic focus on long-term agricultural resilience.
2024 Project highlights
Geographically, Africa received the majority of the funding with 11 projects, followed by initiatives in South America, Europe and Asia.
A total of 12 projects focused on supporting smallholder farmers across eight countries, impacting 21,570 farmers and their families. Many of these projects are multi-year efforts designed to foster self-sufficiency and sustainable farming practices.
Key smallholder initiatives included Raiz Natura - Promoting sustainable cardamom production in Guatemala, Agroecology education in Kenya, Tomato plant health improvement in Uganda and Tuta control in Nigeria.
Project distribution by focus area:
Under the guidance of General Manager Johannette Klapwijk, the Foundation launched several pilot projects in 2024, aimed at transferring knowledge on sustainable agriculture using Koppert’s own biological solutions. These efforts continue in 2025, with both new and ongoing programs being developed and refined.
